Representatives of the Association participate actively in many official committees set up by the government or by semi-governmental organizations, related to the various sectors of the hotel and tourist industry and to the economy of Cyprus in general. In order to protect and promote its members' interests, the Association takes the necessary steps and makes representations to the Government, to the House of Representatives, to various Official Organisations and to the Workers Unions on economic, industrial, commercial, labour, legislative, social and other subjects related directly or indirectly to the hotel and tourist industry of Cyprus. Deputy Ministry of Tourism

The establishment of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism is an important step to further develop Cyprus' tourism sector and will support our goal to upgrade and promote our tourism product in a more efficient way. The ultimate vision for the rebranding and repositioning of Cyprus in the minds of potential visitors as not only the familiar family holiday and beach package destination, but also to show how much more Cyprus has to offer. Part of the new branding is to promote special interest segments, but more importantly to showcase its good air and sea connectivity together with the softer aspects of Cyprus, such as its hospitality, its short distances within the island and its climate of wellness - the island is not overcrowded, blessed with the cleanest air and sea in the Med, high quality produce and a safe environment with low crime rates. Cyprus' location is also an additional advantage; its position in the East Med makes it the ideal holiday base for a visit to neighbouring countries.
