Alexia Kountouri graduated in law from the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms University, Bonn, Germany in 1998. In 1999 she was admitted to the Cyprus Bar. Alexia ‘s practice is focused on public law, including administrative law, data protection law, public procurement law, constitutional law and legislation drafting and she has extensive experience in handling cases before the Supreme Court of Cyprus both at first and second instance in the field of public law. Alexia is a member of IAPP and a member of the UK Procurement Lawyers Association. She has earned the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credential. Alexia has been invited to be a speaker/panellist in various conferences and events, both in Cyprus and abroad. She has authored articles for international legal publications and local periodicals. As from October 2020 Alexia is a member of the Advocates Disciplinary Board, appointed by the Cyprus Bar Association Council. In September 2021 she joined Step Up Stop Slavery, a non-profit organization working to disrupt the human trafficking business model through education, as Head of the Legal Team.
