Marios Pelekanos graduated as an Architect Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens in 1989, and in 1990 he received his M.Sc. from Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning, University College London. From 1993 until 2011 he worked as a Partner at the “Polytia Armos” Architectural Office, where he completed a large number of private and public architectural projects and received prizes and awards at eleven architectural competitions. Since 2011 he is a freelance Architect Consultant, collaborating mainly with the architectural firm of “Omass Architecture” in Nicosia. In 2024 he received his Ph.D. Degree from the National Technical University of Athens for his research on the constructional analysis of the 15th century timber-roofed churches in Troodos area, in Cyprus. His academic career started in 2009 and he is currently an Associate Professor and Vice Head of the Department of Architecture at Frederick University Cyprus. He teaches Architectural Design and Technology courses of the “Architectural Engineering Diploma – Integrated Master” and Constructional Analysis and Restoration Methods courses of the Master’s Degree (DL) in “Conservation and Restoration of Historical Structures and Monuments”.
