Satybaldy Burshakov joined Kazakh Foreign Ministry in November 1993 and he was posted to the Kazakh Embassy in Hungary from 1995 to 2000. He served at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Belgium and was Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UNESCO. Mr Burshakov was engaged in the parliamentary diplomacy in his capacity as Head of the Department of Inter-Parliamentary Relations, Senate Administration and prior to his departure to Paris headed the Department of International Relations and Protocol in Mazhilis, lower chamber of the Parliament of Kazakhstan. During his tenure he also was a Secretary of the Kazakh Parliamentary Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Before his appointment as Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Israel and Cyprus he served at the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan as Head of the Foreign Policy Center. In 2021 he has been awarded a Cyprus Diplomat of the Year Awards.
