Dr. Panayiotis Nicolaides is Director of Research at the EU Tax Observatory; a leading research centre at the Paris School of Economics, dedicated to the study of tax evasion by large corporations and wealthy individuals. He is an expert in public finance and the economics of taxation. Previously, he worked at the European Commission and the Hellenic Ministry of Finance, where he served as Special Economic Advisor to finance ministers; Alternate Member at the Eurogroup Working Group; and Alternate Director at the European Stability Mechanism. He had a central role in the macroeconomic stabilisation of the Greek economy from 2015 to 2019.<\/p>\n
