She is best known for predicting the Global Financial Crisis of 2007-9 with her book: <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/book\/10.1057\/9780230236752\"><em>The Coming First World Debt Crisis<\/em><\/a> (Palgrave, 2006) and for her 2018 book: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.versobooks.com\/en-gb\/products\/2544-the-case-for-the-green-new-deal\"><em>The Case for the Green New Deal<\/em><\/a>. In 2008 she (together with colleagues from the economics and environmental sectors) co-wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/neweconomics.org\/2008\/07\/green-new-deal\">the original Green New Deal<\/a> (GND). In January 2022 the Scottish government appointed Pettifor to its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/groups\/just-transition-commission\/\">Just Transition Commission<\/a>.
