The Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (PASYKAF) is a Nonprofit, Charitable Organization (reg. no. 525) which was founded in 1986 by 21 people with cancer experience as well as other devoted friends.<\/p>\n
From the day of its establishment to date, the Association is carrying out a complex and multifaceted humanitarian network, which aims through its programmes and services, care for persons with cancer experience and their families, throughout the course of the diagnosis. PASYKAF provides a compassionate environment for all the people with cancer experience, by supporting and encouraging them in their course of life.
\nPASYKAF managed to evolve into an organization of thousands of members and supporters, providing professional healthcare and home palliative care services to cancer patients, as well as prevention programs.<\/p>\n
PASYKAF, through its services, supports people with cancer experience and their families throughout their diagnosis, in all districts in Cyprus. From the very beginning it provides specific and specialized support services, aiming at managing all the factors following the course of the disease and affect the person\u2019s quality of life.
\nToday, PASYKAF operates from 5 offices across Cyprus, offering all its services and programs free of charge.<\/p>\n
For 38 years, PASYKAF has been dedicated to providing free Palliative Home Care and Medical Care, including 24-hour monitoring by doctors and nurses who specialize in palliative care. PASYKAF also offers other specialized services such as Physiotherapy and Lymphoedema Clinics, Psychological Support at individual and group levels, Social Support Services, Bereavement Support Service and patients transportation from all districts to Oncology Centres in Nicosia and Limassol, Nutritional Support Service, and two Hospices: PASYKAF – EDEM in Larnaca with a 12 beds capacity and PASYKAF – Archangel Michael in Paphos with a 9 beds capacity.
\nThe Association aims to be a model organization for individuals with cancer experience, focusing on prevention, research and education, health policy and rights advocacy for cancer survivors, as well as the continuous enhancement and evolution of professional health services.<\/p>\n
In 2023, PASYKAF addressed the needs of 7,968 patients and their families through 39,254 sessions conducted across Cyprus.
