Alexis Vafeades studied architecture at the University of Southern California (USC). He had been practicing the profession of architect since 1988 and was one of the Directors of the family architecture practice Vafeades and Co. He is registered with the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ΕΤΕΚ). He was a member of the Board of Directors of Demetra Holdings PLC and of the Cyprus Joint Construction Contracts Tribunal (CyJCCT). During his previous term as President of the CyJCCT, he contributed to the revision of the existing Structural Contracts enriching them with new texts that serve the new requirements of the construction industry. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Council for the Registration of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Architects Association.

She holds an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and currently serves as Director General of the Cyprus Council for Registration and Control of Contractors.

As Founder and Managing Director of BINIAPI Engineering Services (2016-2023), she specialized in project management, contract administration, and construction management across government and private sectors. Her expertise encompasses FIDIC, MEDSK, and Department of Public Works contract formats.

Notable achievements include successfully managing the New Passenger Terminal project at Limassol Port for D.P. World, which earned the CTO 2019 silver award and Medcruise recognition for Most Efficient Cruise Terminal. She has extensive experience in tender preparation, procurement processes, and stakeholder management.

Her 18-year tenure with Iacovou Brothers Constructions Ltd saw her progress from Site Engineer to Project Manager, delivering multiple concurrent projects on schedule and within budget. She is a certified PMI member and holds professional memberships with the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus and Council of Civil Engineers.

Evangelia combines technical expertise with strategic leadership, offering comprehensive solutions in civil engineering while maintaining a commitment to continuous professional development through ongoing education and industry participation.

Για να μπορεί να ασκεί κάποιος τη Μηχανική πρέπει να εγγραφεί στο Μητρώο Μελών του ΕΤΕΚ. Το Επιμελητήριο εγγράφει τα μέλη του (ξεπερνούν σήμερα τα 16 000) με αυστηρούς όρους, διασφαλίζοντας έτσι την ποιότητα των υπηρεσιών που παρέχονται στον Κύπριο πολίτη. Μέλη του ΕΤΕΚ μπορούν να γίνουν και εταιρείες. Το Επιμελητήριο προσφέρει στους Κύπριους πολίτες υπηρεσίες διαιτησιών και πραγματογνωμοσυνών σε θέματα που αφορούν τους κλάδους του.

Το Συμβούλιο ιδρύθηκε με σκοπό την εγγραφή και έλεγχο ατόμων που εξασκούν το επάγγελμα του Εργολήπτη στις κατηγορίες των Οικοδομικών και Τεχνικών Έργων στην Κύπρο και παράλληλα παρέχει την κατοχύρωση του επαγγέλματος των Εργοληπτών και κατ’ επέκταση την προστασία του κοινού. Ιδρύθηκε με βάση τον Περί Εγγραφής και Ελέγχου Εργοληπτών Νόμο του 1973 που τέθηκε σε ισχύ το 1982. Βάσει της σχετικής Νομοθεσίας Ν.29(1)/2001-2013, υπάρχουν δύο Κατηγορίες Εργοληπτών, Οικοδομικών και Τεχνικών Έργων. Κάθε Κατηγορία έχει πέντε Τάξεις, από την Α,’ μέχρι την Ε’ Τάξη. Όλοι οι Εργολήπτες πρέπει να είναι εγγεγραμμένοι στο Συμβούλιο και επιτρέπεται να αναλάβουν και να εκτελέσουν μόνο Έργα τα οποία εμπίπτουν στην Κατηγορία και Τάξη τους, νοουμένου ότι κατέχουν ανανεωμένη Ετήσια Άδεια της Τάξης του Έργου. Για τις παραβάσεις του σχετικού Νόμου, λαμβάνονται νομικά μέτρα και ένοχοι ποινικού αδικήματος μπορεί να είναι εκτός από τον ίδιο τον Εργολήπτη, ο Ιδιοκτήτης του Έργου, καθώς και ο Επιβλέπων Μηχανικός ή Αρχιτέκτονας του Έργου.
