Philokypros Roussounides was born in 1978 and holds an MBA International Business from London Southbank University in the United Kingdom. He has many years of experience in senior management positions in large companies such as DHI GLOBAL MEDICAL GROUP as COO, COBALT AIR as Senior Vice President, DUBAI ETA GROUP as General Manager, and CYPRUS AIRWAYS as General Manager Inflight Services. Ηe took over the duties of the Director General of the Cyprus Hotel Association since June 2020, while he is representing the Association to pertinent Bodies such as the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Government Departments, the House of Representatives, as well as to Committees, Organizations and Associations in Cyprus and abroad related to the hotel industry and tourism. He has many years of experience in issues related to the tourism industry and tourism policy, regional development and European matters. He has participated as a speaker and coordinator in various conferences/workshops and has written articles in the daily press on issues concerning the tourism and hotel industry. He is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of jointly developing initiatives and projects to promote the hospitality industry, as well as a Member of the Parallel Parliament for Entrepreneurship established by the House of Representatives.

Thanos Michaelides obtained a double major in Economics and Political Science from Brandeis University, USA, and an MBA from London Business School. Appointed CEO of Thanos Hotels in 1993, he is the visionary for Thanos Hotels with overall responsibility for the group. Thanos is Owner and Director of the Kult Boutique luxury fashion chain, with 6 locations in Cyprus including City of Dreams Casino, Limassol, and downtown Nicosia and Limassol. Kult is the exclusive retailer in Cyprus of several top designer brands. Thanos is President of the Cyprus Hotel Association since 2023. He was also President of the Paphos Branch of the Cyprus Hotel Association, and Member of the Board of Directors of the Pafos Innovation Institute.

Kostas Koumis was born in Paralimni in 1977. He graduated from Paralimni Lyceum in 1995 and then fulfilled his military service. He studied Business Administration and holds a postgraduate degree in Communication. He served as Communication Manager of the Ammochostos Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Tourist Commercial Industrial Company of Ammochostos and as manager in businesses of the private sector. He served as Vice Chairman of the Cyprus Tourism Organization from 2014 to 2018 and as Vice Chairman of the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA) from 2019 to 2020. He also served as Chairman of the CYTA Audit Committee for the same period. He also worked as visiting professor at a University as well as at a higher education School. From 2020 to 2021, he presented the online show ‘Tourism at the Epicentre’. From July 2021, he is member of the Public Service Commission.

Alexandros Vassilikos is a second generation hotel owner, CEO of AIROTEL Group, which owns and manages a chain of six hotels in Athens, Patra and Kavala. Under his leadership, the Group recorded a significant hotel portfolio growth and diversified its operation by investing in real estate development. In 2021, he co-founded CapitalH, a boutique hotel management company. Since 2019, Alexandros serves as President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, an organization comprised of all 10,000 Greek hotels and camping sites, following a long, successful career in all major Greek hotel lobby organizations. Since that year, he is also an elected member of the Executive Committee of HOTREC. In 2022 after serving two terms, he is elected President of HOTREC. Born in Athens in 1976, to a Greek father, a self-made hotelier-business man and a French mother, Alexandros is married and father of three. He holds a Masters' degree in Economics and Finance, with studies in Nantes, France and London, U.K

With more than 30 years’ experience in journalism, branding, marketing, advertising, public relations, digital communications and production, Andy has worked with some of the world’s leading brands across hotels, spas, restaurants, destinations and real estate. As the Director of Digital Communications at 80 DAYS, Andy heads the social media and content creation teams, working for a diverse range of clients from global luxury hotel brands to independent properties. Andy also spearheads Hotel Social by 80 DAYS, a digital academy and training initiative created especially for hotel, travel and hospitality industries, designed to revolutionise their social media and digital marketing communications.

Antonio Casale is a seasoned Director of Sales with a robust background in driving revenue growth and strategic business development. Currently serving as the Director of Sales at Duetto since May 2022, Antonio has successfully led sales teams, formulated effective sales strategies, and negotiated with key stakeholders. Prior to his current role, he served as the Director of Sales & Hotel Solutions for Italy and Malta at HRS Group for over 13 years. Antonio's expertise extends to market analysis, consumer behavior, and fostering client relations. With a Master's in Business Administration and a diploma in Hotel Management, Antonio combines a wealth of knowledge with a results-oriented approach in achieving sales goals.

Maria Kouroupi joined Hermes Airports in 2009 bringing along over 20 years of experience in the airline industry. She has held the role of Senior Manager Aviation Development, Marketing and Communication since 2013. Maria has extensive experience in aviation development as well as marketing management. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a holder of its Diploma. She is also a holder of two MBA degrees one from the University of Abertay Dundee in Scotland, and one from the Cyprus International Institute of Management. Whilst leading the air service development at both Larnaka and Pafos airports, Maria is also responsible for corporate communication, digital strategies, as well as media and community outreach. She is also a member of the Board of CSR Cyprus as well as the Economic committee of ACI. With a special interest in destination branding, and innovative marketing practices, she is determined to contribute to the collective efforts of transforming the tourism experience in Cyprus and creating demand to support sustainable growth of air connectivity on the island.

Christos S. Christodoulou is the Managing Director of CSC Christodoulou Ltd, with offices in Limassol and Nicosia, established in Y2004. He is also the founder and CEO of Delphi Alliance, the first global multipractice professional association currently with presence in 13 countries. Christos holds the professional title of Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) as well as that of the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and he is practicing in the field of tax and advisory since 1997. He is involved in tax committees in Cyprus for more than 25 years and he served twice as the president of the VAT committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Cyprus. He participates in parliamentary committees for the discussions and formation of the tax laws in Cyprus, as well as with meetings with the Tax Commissioner and the Tax Department, for the issuance of tax circulars and other technical matters. He is a frequent contributor of journals and articles concerning tax and a panelist concerning high level taxation discussions and reforms. His work about tax reform and other tax matters is highly featured in various business journals, magazines and newspapers.

As of March 1st, 2023, Gianleo’s expanded role is aimed at growing Marriott’s footprint in Southern Europe with a particular focus on Iberia, Greece and Italy. In 2019 Gianleo joined Marriott’s Development team as Senior Director responsible for development of all MI brands in Italy completing high profile deals like the W Milan, the Lake Como Edition or more recently the Ritz-Carlton Bellagio. Gianleo graduated from IMHI a joint program of Essec and Cornell University in 2003. Following this he took on a position at JLL Hotels & Hospitality in Milan where he was responsible for feasibility and advisory projects. Moving to the London Pan European investment team in 2007, he followed complex cross boarder sale mandates. In 2011 he changed to the development team at Melia and then Radisson, where he completed deals in all the major Southern European countries.

Ioulia Douramani Efthymiadi started her career in London working in shipping industry before deciding 12 years ago to follow her passion for travel and move to hospitality industry by joining Expedia Group in Athens, GR. Throughout the years at Expedia Group she worked on various roles, opening new markets, driving revenue for existing partners and creating innovative strategies based on business needs. Currently as an Area Manager for Greece & Cyprus supports, motivates, and develops her team through coaching. She is an active member of Inclusion & Diversity community of Expedia Group as a voice of Athens WELL (Woman at Expedia Leading and Learning).

Marios Polyviou studied Accounting and Finance. He has extensive experience in Real Estate Investments and has created and managed investment companies in several different countries. In 2012, he created Sunnyseeker Hotels which has now become one of the leading Hotel Management Companies in Cyprus.

A major in Aviation Technology, Mikhail Alenkin has been perfecting his knowledge and skills throughout his career. Over many years, he has led projects related to buying, selling, and managing business aircraft. Since founding ArcosJet in 2014, he has made the company one of the top brokers in business jet sales. His portfolio features dozens of successful international business aircraft brokerage deals. By early 2020s Mikhail has expanded its business portfolio to projects in airline industry, new aircraft dealership, helicopter & eVTOL operation and infrastructure. Mikhail is a great fan of yachting, a tennis player, and a pilot school student.

Natasha Michaelides is responsible for Corporate Social Responsibility and Communications at Thanos Hotels & Resorts. She is a graduate from Boston University, where she undertook a Master’s in Communications, she has been largely responsible for the development of the individual hotel brands. She is the CEO of KULT a Multi Brand & Omni Channel Leading Luxury Retailer in Cyprus which runs a total of 3,000 square meters of retail space. She is also President and founding member of Enavsma Foundation a non-profit organization for student scholarships. Furthermore she is President and founding member of Simba Animal Aid, a non-profit organization which houses and takes care of stray, abandoned and abused dogs and arranges for their rehabilitation and rehoming. As of 2020, Natasha is a Director of the CYENS Centre of Excellence.

As the co-CEO & co-founder of a leading sustainability consultancy firm in the hospitality industry, Pauline Van Beneden has guided numerous hotels toward harmonizing economic prosperity, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. With a comprehensive background in sustainable practices through master's degrees in Business Engineering: Supply Chain Management and in Sustainable Hospitality Management and a great passion for driving sustainable decision-making in the complex hotel industry, Pauline has excelled in lowering operational costs and creating future-proof, environmentally-friendly solutions tailored to the specific needs of both the guests as well as the hotel business as a whole.

Pavlos Papadimitriou is a Director with the Athens Office of HVS, specializing in hotel valuation and financial consultancy, and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as well as a registered valuer by the Greek Ministry of Finance. He joined HVS Athens in late 2007 after completing the MBA programme of Les Roches School of Hotel Management in Switzerland and a BSc in Marketing and Communication from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Since then, he has conducted numerous valuations, feasibility studies, and market research analyses in the Balkans, Cyprus, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, and Turkey.

Peter-Jan Grech is a renowned figure in the realm of brand transformations, boasting over two decades of expertise. His leadership at BRND WGN, a top-tier brand advisory agency with a presence in Malta and the UK, has been instrumental in navigating businesses and leaders through impactful change strategies and brand expansion in multiple sectors, including financial services and hospitality. As a skilled public speaker, Peter-Jan hosts the insightful “UnBrandMe” podcast, delving into the professional paths of entrepreneurs and brand creators. His commitment extends beyond business; he contributes his strategic acumen to various advisory boards, fostering change management. An enthusiastic challenge pursuer, he participates in endurance sports, sometimes for fun but most times to champion sustainable living and environmental conservation.

Petros Mylonas studied Civil Engineering, but the Tourism Industry won him over. Back in 2000 he joined Louis Tourist Agency and after 10 successful years he moved on to Hotelbeds. Petros was Hotelbeds Contracts Manager looking after Cyprus for 5 years and then was promoted to a Regional Manager and relocated to Greece. During covid he returned to Cyprus. Currently he is leading a team of 14 people looking after South Greece & Cyprus handling a portfolio of 1,200 hotels spread mainly between Crete, Rhodes, Kos & Cyprus.

Born in 1967 in Cyprus, Phivos Stasopoulos has extensive experience in the accounting and banking industries. After graduating from the University of Manchester with a B.A. in Accounting, Finance and Econometrics, he joined KPMG in the UK, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He returned to Cyprus to join Bank of Cyprus as Head of Debt Recovery. After serving in various positions, he became General Manager of Corporate Banking. He left the Bank at the end of 2013 and for a period of almost 2 years he was providing financial advice to reputable companies operating in various sectors of the economy. He joined Hellenic Bank in April 2016 where he held the position of General Manager Business & Insurance Division. Parallel to his duties, from December 2016 to April 2017 and from September 2020 to July 2021, he was officiating the duties of the CEO. Since August 2021, he held the position of Chief Banking Officer, responsible for the whole spectrum of customer related activities and products. In December 2024 and following the recent reorganization, he is now the General Manager Wholesale Banking – responsible for Business Banking i.e. Corporate and Commercial as well as Global Markets.

Tasos Efthymiou studied Economics at the Athens University of Economics & Business and then as travel has been of great interest to him, moved to the Netherlands for a Master on Hospitality Management. His journey within Booking.com started 15 years ago and as of then have been positioned to various roles, currently being the Area Manager of Greece & Cyprus.

Troy Flanagan serves as executive vice president of external government affairs and industry relations for the American Hotel & Lodging Association. He brings over 20 years of experience to the role as a policy advocate who works closely with AHLA’s state association members and industry allies on issues critical to the hotel industry. Troy came to AHLA from Parquet Public Affairs (now known as Align Public Strategies), where as a partner he represented numerous service industry brands and trade associations that dealt with many of the same issues facing the hospitality industry. Through Parquet-managed coalitions, he also helped develop comprehensive, industry-wide solutions to the various public affairs threats posed to employers. Previously, he was director of government relations at International Franchise Association (IFA), where he focused on state and local policy threats to franchised industries, including lodging. Troy’s experience as an issue advocate also includes government relations roles at ConAgra Foods, Inc. and the Grocery Manufacturers Association. He began his career serving in various staff positions of the Florida Legislature, both in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Troy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida and a Master of Arts in International Commerce & Policy from George Mason University. Troy serves on the Industry Advisory Board of the University of Florida’s Eric Friedheim Tourism Institute and holds the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) designation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Victoria Studer found her way into the travel industry in 2011 as a travel consultant for city trips at the Swiss OTA travel.ch. She moved then to TUI Cruises as a guest advisor before returning to travel.ch as a travel consultant. Her further career stages took her to Hotelplan Suisse in 2015 as Manager Sales & Operations Beach East, Lead Product Manager Beach Shorthaul and as Head Product Management. 2021 Victoria Studer has been Director Tour Operating Hotelplan & Migros Ferien and a member of the management team of the Volume Tour Operating division. Since 1.12.2023 Victoria Studer is Director Contracting & Sourcing for Volume Tour Operating.

Willem van Rossem holds a B.Sc Highest Honors degree in Tourism Management by the University of New Hampshire, USA. Willem van Rossem has ample international experience in luxury hotel management positions in Europe, USA and Asia, including Disney, Leading Hotels of the World, Dolce Hotels & Resorts and Port Aventura World. Willem was part of the opening teams for three hotels and provided training, quality assurance and consulting solutions to hotels, cruise lines and call centers in Spain, Morocco and Ecuador, including Taj Hotels & Palaces, American Express and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
