Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) Conference

Demetra Kalogerou (BSc, MSc, MPhil) from September 2011 to September 2021 was the Chairwoman of CYSEC the independent public supervisory Authority responsible for the supervision of the Capital Markets, the investment services market, the Fund industry, the administrative services as well, as Crypto Exchanges. During the same period, she participated in the board of supervisors of ESMA. Also, from November 2012 until February 2021, she was a board member of the CyPAOB, which has been established for the oversight of auditors and audit firms. Furthermore, from November 2019 until June 2021 Mrs. Kalogerou chaired the ad-hoc tripartite committee and she was also a member of the four-party committee concerning the investigation of the naturalization of all persons done through the CIP. Additionally, from September 2013 until June 2014, Mrs. Kalogerou has been a member of the Resolution Authority in Cyprus. Mrs. Kalogerou previously held the position of a Senior Officer of the CSE and has several years of experience in the financial sector and investors’ protection.  

Kyriakos Iordanou is the General Manager of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) since January 2012. Prior to that, he served as a Council member between 2002 to 2011, rising to the position of the Vice President (2009-2011). Kyriakos Ιordanou is a Fellow of ACCA, member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CPFA) and a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (FCIS), as well as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM). He also served as a board member of the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors (2006-2011). In 2019, he was elected as the President of the Parallel Parliament for Research, Innovation and Digital Governance.

Vasilis Charalambous is a Senior Lawyer at George Z. Georgiou & Associates LLC and the Head of GZG Tech, advising public and private sector clients on emerging technologies including Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, Artificial Intelligence and personal data issues. He is the president of the Technology Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association and a member of the International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA) and the Tech London Advocates Blockchain Legal and Regulatory Group. He is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars and writes for various publications on topics related to innovation and technology.

Pantelis is an elected member of the Security Institute in UK and a full member of Association of Security Consultants, UK and Certified Lead Auditor and Trainer for Information Security Management Systems Standard ISO 27001 Pantelis is a public speaker and lectures on risk management and security as well as mentor to individuals who take their first steps in entrepreneurship and in cybersecurity industry.

Stelios Hadjiionas is the Enterprise Sales Manager at Newcytech Business Solutions, bringing 25 years of expertise in IT management and international business development. Andreas is a Senior Manager in the Risk Consulting department at KPMG in Cyprus, with over 10 years of international experience in the financial services industry. He has worked at international and local organisations in Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Andreas leads advisory services in risk and control transformation, operational resilience, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

Constantinos is an experienced Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) professional specializing in Cybersecurity, Privacy, and IT assurance. His diverse background includes Big 4 advisory, security leadership in the banking sector, and IT compliance in the technology industry. He excels at implementing Information Security and Privacy Management Systems and advising business leaders on the security posture of their companies. His expertise extends to cybersecurity regulatory compliance and controls assurance. In his current capacity, Constantinos provides tailored information security and privacy services to a diverse portfolio of companies across the EU, typically serving as a fractional Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO).

Demetris is a Senior manager at Risk Advisory specialising in Cyber and Strategic Risk at Deloitte Cyprus. He has been assisting organisations for almost nine years with the identification, analysis and treatment of risk arising from the use of Information Technology. His clients have ranged from young startups to major multinationals whom he has both audited and consulted on matters of Information Security, Compliance, and IT Risk. Demetris considers that risk requires a multi-stakeholder approach; every unit within an organization has a role to play in the reduction of risk to acceptable levels to enable the use of technology for the achievement of organizational needs. As such, he emphasizes that Information Security is a serverto boardroom concern with specific requirements for all levels of the enterprise.

Christos is a Cybersecurity Partner at EY within the Technology Consulting services. He has over 17 years of experience in the field of Cybersecurity, Digital trust and Resilience, working for professional services and technology providers for clients in multiple countries in Europe, UK, and the Middle East. He has acted as an advisor to C-Level individuals, Boards of Directors and Regulators on the design and implementation of Cyber Security strategic roadmaps and emerging technology secure adoption, while also supporting the CISO function for a range of clients.  He has extensive experience with regulatory frameworks and international standards including ISO 27001, NIST 800, GDRP, and most recently with DORA. He has acted as a trusted advisor to National Authorities for the development and implementation of national cyber security risk management frameworks and technical standards and guidelines for critical infrastructures. With a strong technical background, Christos has led and participated in the delivery of large enterprise security assessments and reviews including, cyber-attack simulations, penetration testing, threat modelling and risk assessments, security architecture design and reviews, for multinational clients operating in the Energy, Banking, Telecommunications sectors.
