Edward Farquharson is a Senior Adviser at the European Investment Bank focusing on public private partnerships (PPPs), including the European PPP Expertise Centre (EPEC), an EIB initiative. Ed’s career as an adviser and as a lender and equity investor to PPP projects included positions with HM Treasury, Partnerships UK, the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), CDC and Morgan Grenfell (later Deutsche Bank). Ed has an MBA from Manchester Business School and a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University. He has co-authored a number of books on PPPs including the Second Edition of ‘PPPs for Infrastructure, Principles of Policy and Finance’, co-authored with E.R. Yescombe and ‘How to Engage with the Private Sector in Public-Private Partnerships in Emerging Markets’ (PPIAF/World Bank).
