Hans D’Hondt studied law and was briefly a solicitor. After his military service, he joined the Ministry of Labour in 1982, and later that year he joined the Ministry of Economy. He made his way through several Ministers’ cabinets and was Chief of Staff of the Prime Ministers’ office before his appointment as President of the Federal Public Service Finance in 2010.
