Yannis Nikolaou, who recently – Sep 2023 – appointed Executive Director of No Finish Line International, a non-profit organization under the High Patronage and leadership of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, is a highly distinguished, respected and internationally recognized professional with outstanding experience across more than 30 years in marketing & communications, media & entertainment, sports & recreation, events & campaigns. A former athlete in middle & distance running (1982-1989), with a remarkable career in journalism and television (1990-2001), was a part of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games organizing team (2002-2004) and from 2005 started his professional journey around the world, as a senior staff member or international consultant in Organising Committees (Doha 2006, Beijing 2008, Tokyo 2020), Governing Bodies (IOC), Sport Federations (FIG, AAA, AFC, IHF, IAAF), International Organisations (No Finish Line), Event Organisations (several World Athletics Championships). Yannis started in IAAF as the Media Operations Manager (Jan 2007 – Aug 2013) and after a re-structure in the organization, became the Communications Manager (Sep 2013 – Aug 2015). With the election of Lord Sebastian Coe as the IAAF President (Sep 2015), promoted to Senior Communications Manager, acting as a spokesperson of the organization and responsible for Media & PR of President Sebastian Coe, a role he served for 6 years (Aug 2021). In the last 2 years (Sep 2021 – Aug 2023) as part of the new World Athletics strategy for growth, and under his new role as Head of Global PR/Campaigns, created and led the global campaigning unit of World Athletics and he also established partnerships with organisations like WHO, UNESCO, UNEP.
