Constantina Makri obtained undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Economics and Financial Economics from the University of Cyprus and the University of Leicester (UK). She has been working for the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) since 2007, serving as a Scientific Officer at the European Programmes Unit, and a National Contact Point (NCP) and Programme Committee national delegate for three consecutive EU Framework Programmes (FP7, Horizon2020, Horizon Europe). Ms Makri is currently been appointed as the NCP and Programme Committee delegate for the Horizon Europe ‘Widening Participation & Strengthening the ERA’ and ‘Cluster 2: Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society’. She has been previously appointed as an NCP and Programme Committee delegate representing Cyprus in a number of FP7 and Horizon 2020 functions (‘Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation’, ‘SC6-Inclusive, Innovative and Reflective Societies’, ‘Research Infrastructures’, ‘Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions-MSCA’, ‘Socio-Economic Sciences and the Humanities’, ‘Regions of Knowledge’, ‘Research Potential’, ‘Science in Society’, and ‘Support to the Coherent Development of Research Policies’). Furthermore, Ms Makri has experience with participating in the proposal writing and implementation phase of a number of NCP EU-funded Projects and coordinated the participation of RIF in the European Science Foundation’s (ESF) activities. She was previously appointed as a Cyprus COST National Coordinator and member of the COST Committee of Senior Officials (CSO). Ms Makri was also involved in designing, evaluating and monitoring RIF’s nationally funded Research and Innovation Programs, as well as in coordinating national student Competitions aiming at nurturing research and innovation culture in Cyprus.
